AnnE’s style embodies the paradox of skillful focused intent while simultaneously letting go, opening to spirit, and trusting in the guidance of the divine flow that is always available. Her presence invites joy, spaciousness, and the wonder of an authentic spiritual adventure.

If you find yourself too often overwhelmed with the busyness of life, yet not connected to your core, your soul, you are certainly not alone.  Today’s society seems to focus on speed,  productivity, material success and superficial connection – often at the expense of a spiritual connection / life.  To find your way onto the soul path, which brings with it deeper presence, greater peace of mind, and more comfort in the world, a spiritual companion / guide may be of great help.

I come from the perspective of Interspiritual counseling. Here the path is spacious, broad and exploratory, drawing upon many traditions, and is not based in a specific notion of Spirit (or God or the Divine). Instead the counselee is encouraged to develop and deepen his/her own understanding of and relation to the creative forces guiding the Universe.

The description I use most in describing spiritual counseling comes from one of my teachers, Kim Hughes, who said, "My job is to support people in living more from their soul than their ego."  Yes!  What does that mean?

  • It means we strip away all the "should's" and everything that we have been taught will bring us joy, meaning, and fulfillment in our lives and instead explore for each and every one of us what our own individual path is. We work with such questions as "What is my work? What free time activities truly nurture and restore me? Does my current lifestyle feel right for me at this point in my life?"

  • It means we explore your conception of God / Higher Power / Divine Spirit - whatever you call that power outside yourself that provides the flow in the universe. We also look at whether this concept fits who you are today and how you choose to be in the world. (This often means we deal with some long-overdue healing of outdated and/or damaging religious beliefs from our upbringing.)

  • It means we also explore the notion of your Higher Self and how connecting more deeply with that aspect of yourself can serve you.

  • It means we delve into the healing of your soul - whether that is by addressing unresolved grief, forgiveness that needs to be accepted or given, or anything else that "bruises the soul" to quote Ghalib - and inviting you to step into the wholeness of your authentic being and life.

  • It means we support you in learning to work with your energy in a way that meets the demands of your life.

  • It means anything it needs to mean for you to be able to live the rich, full, meaningful life your heart and soul longs for.
